Maliek Collins

Defensive Tackle

Update – 2020 was a rough year for the Raiders defense. Maliek Collins now plays on the Houston Texans. Good Luck Maliek!

Maliek Collins- is a key player in Coach Gruden’s defense improvement plan, Maliek came to the team after 3 years with the Dallas Cowboys. The new Defensive line coach Marinelli signed with the Raiders and brought him to the team too.

They say that after 3 years on the Cowboys, he’s a key component to the defensive line for his leadership as well as his skills. At 25 years old, Maliek is at a level of play that can help explode the defensive. With a 1 year, $6M contract, be looking for some great sacks.

Maliek grew up in Kansas City, both Kansas and Missouri. Even though he lost his father to a heart attack when he was only 6 years old, his mother encouraged his to play sports. Playing both football and wrestling in high school, as a junior, wrestling took him all the way to the quarterfinal round of the State of Missouri wrestling championships. However, as a senior, Maliek was undefeated and won the State of Missouri Wrestling Championship.

Also playing football all through high school, the University of Nebraska noticed him and offered him a football scholarship. Both his wrestling and football skills were noticed by the Dallas Cowboys who drafted him in the 2016 draft, number 67 overall.

With a one-year contract to prove himself and for him to love us, let’s hope Las Vegas becomes his home for a long time. Being single, we are sure that he will be in high demand when personal appearances resume. He is on our watch list. Welcome to Las Vegas Maliek!

Maliek’s Commitment To Football

During the first week of Spring Training with the Cowboys Maliek broke his right foot. Missing all of pre-season, when the regular season started, he was at the bottom of the tackle roster. Overcoming a rough NFL start it only took two games to prove his worth and become a Dallas Cowboys starter. After a second foot surgery in 2018, Maliek fought hard and remained a Cowboys starter for the season.

During the 2020 off-season Maliek stayed fit with boxing. Watching his diet he lost 20-25 pounds and is ready to be a leader and huge contributor to the team. The reason for a 1-year contract? His choice. The offers were not where he wanted them to be so he’s gambling on his skill. With that attitude, Las Vegas is a great place to call home.
