Henry Ruggs III
Wide Receiver
UPDATE: At 3:39 AM, November 2, 2021, Henry Ruggs’ NFL career crashed. Airbag reports show Henry’s corvette traveling at 156 MPH 2.5 seconds before impact and 127 at the time of impact. Tina Tintor and her dog trapped in the RAV4 that he collided with perished in the resulting fire.
It is reported that Henry and Rudy were hanging out with friends after an evening at Top Golf. Having crashed on a surface street, they were photographed sitting on the curb before going to the hospital. Henry’s blood alcohol level was reported to be 0.18%, twice Nevada’s legal limit of 0.08%.
He was arrested for the DWI accident and an illegal handgun under the seat of the car. In August of 2022, Henry’s defensive team unsuccessfully argued that there was no probable cause for conducting a blood test. He remains home under house arrest.
The Raiders continue to support Henry emotionally but do not condone his actions.
Our Original Henry Ruggs BIO:
Henry Ruggs III moves! As the fastest and youngest wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders, Henry is a great asset. He played college football at the University of Alabama. Before graduating, the Raiders selected him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Henry is well known for his speed. And his selection in the draft made the Raiders a greater headache for their opponents. To be clear, his speed is not just about his body but also his mind. He’s a quick thinker who can handle a lot of things at the same time.
Henry Ruggs In 2020
Chosen to be the fastest rookie wide receiver in Madden 21 EA Sports NFL game released in August of 2020, Henry Ruggs had a “Speedster” reputation before ever playing an NFL game as a Raider. For most plays during the 2020 season, he had the opposing defense double covering him. This enabled other receivers to be open, however, Henry’s first year stats were pretty low. We hope that he has the opportunity for a few breakaways in 2021.
Getting into Football
As a boy growing up, Henry would play basketball every day at the YMCA with his friend Rod Scott. When they talked about joining the NBA, Scott encouraged Henry to play for the NFL instead. Rod Scott said he was a natural. It was not too long after this when Scott died in a terrible car accident.
In tribute to his friend who died as a passenger in a car accident, Henry went out for football in college. During his freshman year, he sat on the bench, finally catching one pass in the final game. The next year Henry became a starter, all thanks to a man who first saw this untapped talent that we are fortunate to have on the Raiders. If it weren’t for Rod Scott, we wouldn’t have Henry Ruggs with us today.
We will be seeing a lot of Ruggs this year. Henry is a talented athlete that does not disappoint his football fans. Chosen as the very first Raiders draft pick for 2020, Coach Gruden said that Henry Ruggs is someone with a chance to be great.
Personal Life
We all love Ruggs. Who wouldn’t be mesmerized by his fine traits? But unfortunately again for the single Raider Ladies, someone already owns Henry’s heart. He met Rudy Washington way back when they were teenagers. The couple has been together since high school and have an adorable daughter together. Family is a great reason for Ruggs to be with us for years to come.
Did You Know?
Kenzli Re’Nai
Henry’s daughter was born five weeks ahead of her due date. Thankfully a NICU hospital stay was not needed and we are happy to report that she is in great health.
Kenzli is growing fast and is as precious as can be in her spa day picture on the left. She was born May 7, 2019, and arrived in Las Vegas living the life!
Henry Started with the Raiders in Crutches
It’s quite ironic that someone so well-known for speed started out playing with the Raiders on crutches.
Being the nice guy that he is, Henry helped out a friend with his house move. Accidents happen. And when it did, it slashed him in the thigh. He’s ok now after being pinned by a trailer. Things could have been so much worse but thankfully there was no permanent damage done.
He must have needed some time off before the season started. Welcome to Vegas and the Raiders, Mr. Henry Ruggs III and family!
We had to include the picture of Henry giving his girlfriend Kiera (Rudy) Washington a new car. Is it fast? Yep, this 2020 Mustang GT has 332 horsepower and goes 60 MPH in less than 5 seconds. Why we think this is very cool is because the car doesn’t come in yellow and that’s her favorite color. Nice guy!
