The New Home of the Las Vegas Raiders

Allegiant Stadium, the new home of the Las Vegas Raiders, is officially complete. The state-of-the-art facility stands as a striking landmark in the heart of Las Vegas, boasting a modern design and cutting-edge technology. Hiring offices opened early in the process, taking applications for 4,500 positions. While minimal staff was initially hired, operations were soon put on hold due to unforeseen delays.

However, as the stadium reached completion, preparations ramped up to ensure everything was in place for future events.

The stadium’s retractable field now showcases lush, green grass, designed to provide an optimal playing surface for athletes while maintaining the stadium’s flexibility for other major events. The surrounding landscape is fully developed, adding to the impressive visual appeal of the facility. Every detail, from the exterior architecture to the fan experience, was carefully planned to make Allegiant Stadium one of the premier venues in professional sports.

Meanwhile, the Nevada Department of Transportation has been actively working on infrastructure improvements, installing road signs along Al Davis Way and extending signage on the freeway all the way to Primm at the Nevada-California state line. These upgrades ensure smooth access for fans traveling from all over, enhancing the overall game-day experience.

One of the most symbolic moments in the stadium’s construction came on July 30, 2020, when the Raiders logo was placed on the stadium sign along Al Davis Way. This final touch marked a significant milestone, coming just one day before the contractor’s official delivery target date. With the logo proudly displayed, Allegiant Stadium was finally ready to welcome the Raiders and their loyal fanbase to a new era of football in Las Vegas.

As the team settles into their new home, Allegiant Stadium is poised to become a hub for not only NFL games but also concerts, major sporting events, and entertainment spectacles, solidifying its place as one of the most iconic venues in the country.

The cost of this beautiful stadium came in at just over $1.9 billion dollars. The gameday seating capacity is 65,000 with expandable seating to 72,000 people for other events. The technology inside outshines every other stadium in the country. The Las Vegas Raiders relocated to Las Vegas and Henderson over the spring and summer. Before the Henderson Headquarters and Practice Facility opened, pictures of Carr throwing the football in the park with 5 other players were on the news.  Sightings around town are practically non-existent due to the COVID-19 threat, but we built it and they have come.

Just Win Baby!

Real Grass – Grown Outside

When the stadium was being planned, astroturf was not an option. Retractable roofs have shade/sun issues for fans inside so the Raiders chose a retractable field. This meticulously cared-for lush field of green grass lives outside and is brought inside for game day.

This keeps the turf pristine and game-ready.

There is astroturf on the stadium floor that will remain there during many events. UNLV who will also be using the stadium has their own astroturf keeping the football grass pristine.

With preseason games cancelled, the first Las Vegas Raiders’ game was held on September 13th, 2020, vs. NC Panthers. The first home game in Allegiant Stadium was held on Monday Night September 21, 2020, vs. New Orleans Saints.
